Mordechai and the Son of David: A Messianic Look at Purim
February 18 & 25 7:30 - 8:45ET
Costumes, Noise Makers, Hamentaschen, listening for Haman’s name so we can make a racket. This is Purim.
Or, is it? Or at least, is that all it is?
The noise making is supposed to drown out the sound of Haman’s name, yet it only starts after the name is read, often drowning out the following words. What happens when we really read Megillat Esther? Is there something more to the story and this holiday?
In these two sessions, we will explore the Purim story as a history of a time that has not yet happened.
